The PCAP Intervention
PCAP uses a two‐pronged approach:
- With the client: establishing the relationship, learning the client’s story, the Difference Game, setting goals and treatment planning, assessing client strengths and needs, challenges, motivational interviewing
- Within the community: services coordination, resolving service barriers
The Client File
- Client services agreement, tracing information, services coordination, releases of information, medical information, goals and assessments, case notes, and correspondence
PCAP Best Practices
- Client file reviews, weekly time summary, individual supervision, weekly group staffing, PCAP staff boundaries and standards, concrete activities, tracing tips, strategies for preventing future alcohol and drug exposed births, staff retention
Advocate/Case Manager Safety and Legal Protocols
- Advocate safety, clients involved in the legal systems, mandated reporting, duty to warn
Finding Meaning in the Work
